This blog originated from a need to record thoughts and reflections during a journey to Italy with a group. We have endeavoured to relive and present the various parts of our travels but also to incorporate our everyday experiences from our garden home in Victoria. We love all the native animals which inhabit our garden – wombats, kangaroos and possums, and our cats. We used to have Plymouth Rock chickens, writing about them in the past. At times, we also reflect on aspects of literature, the seaside and the beauty of nature. We hope you enjoy sharing our garden and animals.

I have a mountain garden in Italy. There I have to deal with wild goats who eat my roses, azaleas and camellias, deer who do much the same and ringbark my trees, wild boar who dig up the grass and porcupines who eat bulbs. We love it anyway and try to plant things they don’t like, such as lavender, rosemary, wisteria, hydrangeas and peonies.

Sounds like quite a challenge! I didn’t realise there were so many threats to your plants! I am sure it is very beautiful nevertheless 😊🌷🌺
