Majestic oak

I wasn’t supposed to be here but the sun was out and I had a take away coffee in my hand. Our local pub is closed and deserted due to lockdown but I couldn’t resist sitting quietly overlooking this Majestic Oak.

Enjoy your season in the garden.

Weeding Wednesday

Ok, so I’ve made that up… however, I have started a new project which requires heavy weeding and the rearranging of a rock border.

There are old pavers to be removed and rocks replaced. It’s always rewarding to see the weeds gone and a new project evolving.

The light is dappled and I can work at my own pace under the shade of the lilac tree.

Further around the garden I can see figs ripening with the hostas looking on.

After a day’s lifting, weeding and rolling rocks into place, I’m quite pleased with the result. Cats also inspected the new garden bed!

What are your favourite plants for afternoon dappled light??

A garden lookout

Record rainfall over the last few months have prevented me from spending time in the garden. We have had snow, wind, hail and low level flooding! What a winter!

I guess this little fellow is waiting patiently for my return. Shortly, I will be able to show off my new veggie patch and restored chicken house – now a potting shed! Waiting for the sun and some warm weather. Look out for my posts soon.
